The teapot includes a stainless steel ultra-fine mesh strainer/lid. The strainer will filter the tea leaves. The teapot has plenty of room for the tea leaves or teabag to bloom or steep. To use add the desired amount of tea and pour in hot water. Place the lid back on the teapot, let it steep for several minutes and then pour it out and enjoy. Dishwasher safe. Do not use in the microwave. BPA free. This is a well designed and functional glass teapot.
